Africa NewLaw was started by our Founder Rian Hancock to bridge the gap for African legal problems with World Class African developed legal technology and ELM solutions.

Africa NewLaw, brings together the disciplines of leading practice Enterprise Legal Management (“ELM”) consulting and technology to create seamless solutions that leverages all value drivers across the legal and GRC operational disciplines.

Africa NewLaw is focused on assisting our clients with the transformation of their enterprise wide legal services delivery. We use the NewLaw concept to design and develop ELM solutions that are effective, efficient and fit-for-purpose to deliver more value for your legal spend.

Rian is a highly experienced lawyer and legal operations expert. Prior to starting Africa NewLaw, Rian was responsible for the delivery of Legal Management Consulting services at Deloitte and Head of LPO Delivery in South-Africa for Integreon.

Before commencing his legal operations journey, Rian practised as an Advocate for 7 years and is currently a non-practising attorney.

 His experience in Tech and innovation dates from 2016 as a Data Science for Impact and Decision Enablement (DSIDE) intern at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). As a result, he learned a lot about programming languages and artifice intelligence. He is a LawWithoutWalls (LWOW) alumni class of 2021.
